The NSD Inland Port, situated in Terrace, BC, is strategically positioned adjacent to CN's main Terrace yard. The site boasts convenient access to the heavy trucking route, with links to both Highway 16 (east and west) and Highway 37 (south and north). Currently, CN provides servicing twice a week, and there are plans to enhance this to a frequency of three times per week. Covering 27 acres, the port is meticulously designed to manage a diverse range of commodities.

CROSS DOCKING

A 40,000-square-foot cross-dock facility offers convenient back-in access for container-on-chassis or van trailer trucks, along with direct dock access for rail cars. The cross-dock features two rail spurs, each capable of accommodating six 55’ rail cars, providing a total capacity for 12 cars.

DRY BULK & CONTAINERS

The dry bulk transloading area is equipped with three rail spurs, each capable of handling up to twelve 42’ rail cars. Future plans include the construction of a bulk storage building with direct conveyor access to facilitate the seamless unloading of commodities from rail cars and subsequent loading onto trucks using conveyors or loaders. Additionally, one of the three spurs is designed to accommodate a container handler, optimizing the efficiency of loading and unloading containers.

BREAK-BULK, LUMBER

Our break bulk area is designed with the potential for future expansion. We envision a future facility with a rail spur capable of accommodating nine center beam rail cars, accompanied by a substantial laydown area. The loading of various commodities such as steel, logs, etc., is part of the planned features, contingent upon demand.

DANGEROUS GOODS

The west end of our railyard is designed to accommodate dangerous goods and a variety of transloading spurs are available.

RAILCAR STORAGE

The NSD Inland Port currently receives service from CN's runaround track located in its primary Terrace yard. With no roads to cross and the main line of CN remaining unencumbered, the site ensures efficient operations. Our facility can currently accommodate the spotting of 24 cars at a time by CN, with ongoing service twice a week and plans for future service three times a week.

In addition to the main exchange yard and the transloading spurs, we boast storage capacity for up to 55 rail cars. To facilitate internal movements, we have a railcar mover stationed on-site, enabling the seamless transfer of cars from the exchange yard to the transloading or storage spurs.

SITE ACCESS & COMMON FACILITIES

The site features a private driveway capable of accommodating up to three full-size trucks waiting to clear the main gate. Security is a priority here, with access to the main gate restricted to authorized carriers using a key fob or combination. Once within the facility, a convenient parking area is situated next to the main office.
